Today was Pink Slip Tuesday at my company. They laid-off 10 of my friends, which was 20% of our staff. The only good news for me today is I’m not one of the people who were let go.
As American consumers, 70% of the economy is based upon our spending. This makes us very powerful in some ways. It also makes us a target for aggressive sales tactics and deceptive marketing claims.
This week, I moved my blog to HopeToProsper.com. With this change of venue comes a new style, a new attitude and a new theme for my blog. What hasn’t changed is my commitment to providing the highest quality content, with emphasis on sound financial planning.
In my opinion, the best way to help the environment is to change the cost and economics, so that it favors clean sources of energy. For example, people will start buying electric cars when they are priced roughly the same as gasoline powered vehicles. And, they will convert to wind and solar power when it becomes price competitive with utility power.
This post was created to encourage young people to step-up to the responsibilities that lie ahead of them. There are some very honest evaluations and comparisons. And, there is some good advice from an old dude who has already lived through most of what young people will face in the next 25 years.
