It’s sad to me when people look to possessions for happiness. They can fill their lives with toys and have all of the money in the world, but that won’t bring contentment.
Since I am an avid Do It Yourselfer (mostly because I am cheap), I thought I would share three examples of where we saved a ton of money by doing it ourselves.
MySpace, king of the social networks just a few short years ago, sold for a paltry $35 million this week. News Corp. bought MySpace for $580 million in 2005, which pencils out to a 94% loss. I won’t invest in Facebook, Twitter or most other online businesses and here are 4 important reasons why.

This Father’s Day, I’m feeling nostalgic, because my youngest child just turned 18. So, on one hand, I have completed my legal responsibility as a parent and a great weight has been lifted from my shoulders. On the other hand, my golden time of sharing their daily lives is coming to an end.
