My Early Retirement Anniversary
Last Saturday was the one-year anniversary of my early retirement. I can’t believe it has snuck up on me so fast. It just seems like yesterday I was floundering around and trying to figure out what I was going to do with my life and now Bam! a whole year has passed me by. Despite the rocky start to my retirement, I created a plan and a vision for the life I wanted to lead and I am living it now. I am so grateful I took the plunge, instead of extending my career.
Time is Precious
Time is precious and it goes by quickly. One day, you are young, healthy and strong and the next thing you know, you have high blood pressure and a blown-out knee. So, time isn’t something you want to squander away. It is very precious and deserves to be treated as your most priceless commodity.
I just want to celebrate my retirement with you guys and talk about how much this year has meant to me. This really has been one of the best years of my life in so many ways. I have really enjoyed making these blog posts and YouTube videos and sharing my adventures with you. I also hope the content is helpful to you in making retirement and financial decisions. My goal since I founded this blog way back in 2007 has been to educate and entertain my viewers and that continues to be my mission. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
Second Year Plans
Here are my adventure plans for my second year of retirement:
- Great Lakes Tour
- Fish the Gulf of Mexico
- Six New States
- Seven National Parks
- Ten Weekend Trips
The Bottom Line
Life is a journey, and you don’t want to get cheated. It’s a one-way trip and you can’t turn back the clock. You can affect your future, but you can’t change your past. Make wise decisions now and you won’t have regrets later.
