Kevin,

It's not only the banks. I think most American companies look at customers like marks. Instead of providing superior products and service, they are just looking for ways to prey on their customers.

I picked the OJ example for a reason. Obviously, the criminal trial was a miscarriage of justice. But, I have always thought it was ironic how OJ lost his memorabilia in the civil suit and then got convicted for trying to steal it back. It's like karma and arrogance finally brought him down. I'm hoping the same thing happens to the banks.

Bret, I'm with you on lawsuits, they usually have a less than holy purpose. But in the case of the banks, it may be the only way to get their attention.

Unfortunately, there are too many banks that stopped treating their customers like customers a long time ago. We can blame ourselves for our unswerving loyalty, but something has to give.

Intereting that you brought up the OJ Simpson case. My sense has always been that that case exposed the flaws in the American legal system for all the world to see. After a jury couldn't convict him of a crime, a civil court awarded the plaintiffs a big settlement. The same case with the same parties, but a very different outcome.
